"If we have minimal expectations for what
beginning students can and will do, we set in
motion a self-fulfilling prophecy. Instead, librarians, professors, and
administrators should share a collective goal: that students entering
college will get the best start possible by becoming savvy consumers of
information."
Student consultations are
designed to introduce individual students to research databases, and
how to find appropriate internet resources for scholarly writing.
We will be assisting the student in defining their topic, performing
research, and
writing MLA or APA citations. The students will perform their own research. Under
no circumstance will librarians do the research for the student.
Instructor consultations
include research database demonstration, new databases, how to find
particular journal titles and articles. We will come to your office or
meet in the library.
