GCCC Library PRIVACY POLICY
The GCCC Library is committed to protecting each library user's privacy. It is the library's hope that by doing so the library will earn each library user's trust and confidence. The following is a disclosure of the library's privacy policy with respect to the personal information of each library user.
Personal information includes any and all personally identifying information that is provided to the GCCC Library. The GCCC Library is sensitive to these privacy interests and believes that protecting personal information is one of the library's most significant responsibilities. Generally, individuals may visit and use the library's web site at anytime without telling the library who they are or revealing any information about themselves. This statement applies to all portions of the library's web site except those which are restricted to GCCC faculty, staff, and students by license agreement and/or copyright law, such as many of the GCCC Library's electronic indexes and electronic journals. The GCCC Library collects information from visitors to the library's web site only when such is necessary to provide effective services and/or needed resources to those visitors.
The GCCC Library may log http requests to our server for statistical purposes only. No personal information, such as name or address, is collected or used. The GCCC Library may use a few cookies. Cookies are small files, which are used to store information on a user's computer, such as a user id for accessing a copyrighted journal or a record of previous library catalog pages a user has visited. The GCCC Library's cookies are used only while a user is in the library's web site. The library does not use cookies to track what other sites a user has visited or to obtain any personal or confidential information.

The GCCC Library keeps some personal data regarding valid library users. Such information is usually collected by the college during the admissions and/or registration processes. The provision of this personal data is completely voluntary. However, insufficient or incorrect personal data may prevent the GCCC Library from providing requested services or needed resources. Personal data held by the GCCC Library is kept confidential. Only authorized library staff with assigned password may access personal data stored in the library's computer system for the purpose of performing library work. The library will not disclose any personal data which it holds to any other party in a manner that would identify users, except where required by law or in order to fulfill an individual user's service request.
When library users choose to provide the library with personal information via the Internet or otherwise, the library presumes that users want that information kept private. Therefore, the library does not sell or lease users' personal information to companies, universities, or individuals.
The GCCC Library has established procedures so that a user's information is accurate, current and complete in accordance with reasonable standards. Any request to correct inaccurate information is responded to within a timely manner. Check your information here or call us to verify. Users have the right to know what information the library keeps about them and how the information is used. Users have the right to have any inaccurate information corrected or deleted.
