Borrowing Books and materials from the library for off campus students

The library will mail items to distance education students and students of GCCC who are attending classes at Tyndall, Gulf/Franklin, or North Bay. Orders for materials may be placed by calling the library at 850-872-3893 or online.

Items can be returned through the mail or at the Gulf/Franklin Center reception desk. You may renew some items online. Items must bear the postmark with the date the material is due or before to avoid overdue charges.

Databases include full-text articles and are available to all GCCC students regardless of location. To access the databases use the "Find articles" link from the home page. To log in, use the first initial of your first name and the first initial of your last name and then the last four digits of your social security number.

FAQ's

Who has access to library services?
	All GCCC students, faculty, and staff have access to all library services. For some services your user ID is required. This number is your Social Security Number without the dashes.
How do I get help?
	There are several ways students may get assistance. Go to the Research Help pages, call the library at 850-872-3893, email us at library@gulfcoast.edu, or contact a reference librarian through Ask-a-Librarian.
What is my user ID?
	For checking your account or renewing a book your user ID is your social security number and password is the last four digits of that number. For accessing the databases, use your first initial of your first name and the first initial of your last name and the last four digits of your social security number. (e.g., ab4567)
How many items can I borrow through the mail at one time?
	You may have 20 items out at any time, but we limit your mailed items to three books. You may request up to five articles per day from periodicals we own or through ILL.
What is the Ask-a-Librarian service online?
	Ask-a-Librarian is a private chat where you are connected with the librarian on the third floor of the campus library. Ask-a-Librarian is available while the library is open. If you do not get a response right way, try back in a few minutes or use email.
